Dreading the time and day you’ll have to put together a homemade lasagna, but craving that homemade flavor? I once talked with a friend that said it took forever to make lasagna.

How long does homemade lasagna take to cook?

Our lasagna takes 30 minutes of cooking time. In total, you’re looking at 55 minutes of prep and cook time.

The taste is worth the time!

How many layers of lasagna is too many?

Depends on how many ingredients you have for the layering of the lasagna!

We make about 3-4 layers. These include the ricotta cheese, spinach filling and mozzarella cheese at the very top.

If you have a tall pyrex, you can make as many layers as you’d like- just make sure the lasagna does not topple over the top of the baking dish!

Is it worth it to make homemade lasagna?

Not only will you be getting the wonderful, fresh flavor of the cheese and the vegetables all blended into one, but you’re also getting the healthy.

Frozen ready-made meals are full of sodium and ingredients you don’t want to know about.

It’s sad that a large percentage of Americans turn to frozen food as their go-to.

Why? Probably because it’s convenient and easy.

And society is always running around like crazy, trying to get a million things done at once, so of course we like easy…

The truth is, you’re still getting sodium and you will get sick in the future if you always choose the easy-way-out.

As Jillian Michael’s blog puts it “the best way to avoid excessive sodium in frozen food is to make your own meals”.

Step 3

Saute all of the vegetables and spices in a large(preferably nonstick) pan. Now the spinach you’re sauteing in the pan is going to be frozen spinach, but once you begin to saute the vegetables, the frozen spinach will come apart and the flavors of all the veggies will blend together.

Cooking tools we recommend for this recipe

Large pyrex: For putting together the lasagna. It’s durable and works great for baking and pasta dishes! I have had mine for over 5 years and the only time one of my pyrex glass dishes broke was when I dropped it on accident (it’s glass).

Vegetable Chopper: Make your cooking life simpler with an amazing vegetable chopper. No knife needed! Works great for chopping vegetables in this recipe and any recipe!

Large pan: For sauteing the vegetable mix. Nonstick pans are the BEST. You don’t have to worry about messing up a recipe because nothing will stick on there. I especially love the large ones that allow you to cook so much food on them. (Hooray for leftovers!). Here’s another option for a pan that is nonstick that you can use.

Wooden Spoon: For sauteing the vegetables in the heated pan.

Large pot: For boiling the lasagna noodles. Must be large enough so all the noodles fit!
