Our Easy Homemade Avocado Burger is just what your family needs this memorial day and really any day. Just a few ingredients to make sure you have for this simple, juicy recipe and you’re ready to go!

Do you need an outdoor grill to make a hamburger?

You don’t need an outdoor grill to make a hamburger!

I use an indoor George Foreman Grill.

What in the world is a George Foreman Grill?

It’s a simple little indoor electric grill(some can be for outdoor) that does wonders.

Now, i’m not saying that an outdoor grill should not be used. If you love your outdoor grill, use it for the following recipe! It serves the same purpose as the Foreman grill.

However, if you’re the kind of person that does not use the outdoor grill(like me) or doesn’t want to go into the hassle of making sure the grill has gas to function or charcoal to heat up, then the Foreman grill is your thing.

I use the Foreman grill to grill chicken, burgers, etc.

Like I said, it serves the same purpose as an outdoor grill, minus the taste of charcoal.

So if you’re looking for something easy to grill your meat on, use the Foreman grill. I’ve had mine since I was in college, which was quite a few years ago.

It’s lasted, it works, it grills quickly and the taste is great!

Another plus, is it does not take up too much room in the kitchen(at least the smaller ones) and they are electric- all you have to do is plug them into an outlet and they will work-No more preparing charcoal or trying to locate the lighter fluid!

Tips for using the Foreman Grill

When you grill on the smaller Foreman grill, there is a light that will turn on when the meat is ready to flip.

This is handy, however I don’t trust the light-I just flip the burger various times, grill again on each side and even pinch the meat to check it is fully cooked(I’m a well-done meat kind of person).

What’s great about the Foreman now is that they make various sizes so you can grill 1 to various pieces of meat at the same time! That’s fabulous if you’re cooking for a large family and needing more burgers to be grilled at once.

Where can you get the Foreman Grill?

There’s always Amazon-one of my favorite places to shop!

You can find the Foreman grill serving 2 or the Foreman grill serving 4, or if you’d rather make more meat at once, there’s even the Foreman grill that serves 6 and the Foreman that serves 15(this one is larger and will take up more room, but it’s indoor or outdoor and electric).

So, if you’re like me and looking for an “easy” way to make a delicious burger, use the Foreman for the easy homemade avocado burger.

The Easy Homemade Avocado Burger is simple, yet has an amazing, creamy taste and is full of flavor!

Ingredients

Step by step how to make the Easy Homemade Avocado Burger?

Step 1

Take a ball of ground beef and pat it down into the shape of a burger-it doesn’t have to be perfect. Just make it round and make sure it is in one piece. Make it as thick or thin as you like.

Step 2

Place the meat on the outdoor grill or the indoor George Foreman Grill (Read all about the George foreman grill up above)

Step 3

Saute a few onions in olive oil to add to your burger (the amount of onions depends on how many burgers you are making and how many onions you like to eat in one burger). I love onions so I would include as many as can fit.

Step 4

Slice up some avocados and (optional) tomatoes to add to burger. Get your hamburger bun ready, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

Step 5

When the meat is fully cooked, add 2 slices of cheese to the meat and let the cheese rest on the meat with the meat still on the grill.

Step 6

Remove the meat from the grill. Add the meat into a hamburger bun (or lettuce or gluten-free hamburger bun for those who are gluten-free) and add the avocado slices on top of the cheese.

Step 7

Add additional toppings onto the hamburger bun and burger as desired.

Tips for making the easy homemade avocado burger

  • If you are using a Foreman grill, make sure the grill is left open, NOT closed when melting the cheese. Leave the meat on the grill until the cheese starts to melt.
  • Replace white or wheat flour hamburger bun options with lettuce or gluten free options to make this a gluten-friendly recipe!
  • Take a look and read about how to properly slice an avocado.
  • Watch a simple video about how to saute onions(in case you’re wondering what that even means):
